Program Information

Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering is a mixed-mode postgraduate academic programme which specializes in advanced manufacturing and its systems. The main objective for the establishment of this programme is to produce postgraduates in the field of engineering with specialization in manufacturing engineering to fulfil the need of Malaysia’s modern industries such as manufacturing and production, research and development work, sustainable manufacturing, etc. The programme equips students with sufficient manufacturing engineering knowledge and soft skills to enable them to work effectively, not only toward their degree but also to deal with problems encountered in an increasingly competitive technological world.

Modes of study be full time or part time. Duration of the study take 1 year for full time. Total credits of the study is 41 credits. Intake per year will held on Febuary and September.   

1. Contribution to the development of knowledge through research, consultation, writing and publication [Knowledge & Practical Skills] 
2. Successfully accomplish development project especially in manufacturing engineering applications, and related fields [Soft Skills] 
3. Ability to the transfer knowledge and technology to community at large, effectively and ethically [Soft Skills]

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Technology accepted by UTHM Senate with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent; or
2. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or Technology with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
3. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or Technology with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment. (Working Experience Portfolio Required)
4. Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by UTHM and meet the minimum CGPA based on (1) to (3). (Rigorous Assessment)
5. Applicant with the age of 30 and above (on the year of application) with APEL A-T7 qualification can be accepted.

International students should fullfill the minimum english proficiency level of either MUET = B3.5, IELTS = 5.0, TOEFL iBT = 40, TOEFL Essentials (Online) = 7.5, PTE Academic/ PTE Academic (Online) = 47, Linguaskill Online = 154 or ELS = 107 for International Students. (For Non-English Speaking Country)
