Program Information

The programme is designed to extend knowledge and skills gained from the first degree and to develop new professional skills. This programme comprises 8 core courses and more than 35 elective courses to be chosen by students based on students' interest. The certificate equips the graduates with integrated professional skills and knowledge in the fields of Mechanical Engineering especially in Mechanics, Manufacturing, Thermofluids and Materials. Besides preparing the graduates for an attractive career in the mechanical fields, this qualification enables graduates to carry out innovative research in the field.

Mode of Study:
Master of Mechanical Engineering is a coursework postgraduate academic programme offered in full time and part time bases

Intake:
2 intakes / year (February and September) 

Duration:
Minimum 1 year and 6 months (full time) and 2 years 6 months (part time)

Entry Requirement:

1. Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science or Technology from recognized institutions with minimum CGPA ≥ 2.50
2. Applicant with a bachelor’s degree not meeting the minimum CGPA can be accepted subjected to the minimum working experience in the relevant field *(ONE (1) year working experience equivalence to 0.1 CGPA)

3. Applicant with a bachelor’s degree not meeting the minimum CGPA without any relevant working experience must undergo and pass (with a minimum of grade B) appropriate enhancement courses determined by the faculty and meet the minimum CGPA *(ONE (1) enhancement courses equivalence to 0.1 CGPA)

4.  Applicant with the age of 30 and above (on the year of application) with APEL T7 qualification can be accepted.

5. International students are required to meet a minimum score of TOEFL 500, IELTS 5 or MUET Band 3.5
