Dual / Double Degree is referred to combination of two academic programs from the same or almost the same field of study (discipline) involving cooperation between two universities/institutions whether it is locally based or abroad with equal understanding and leads to the award of two degrees (scrolls) from both universities involved.

Dual Degree with  UTHM-Heilbronn University 

Study Across Borders. Graduate with Two Degrees.

Dual Degree Programme is an international academic pathway that allows students to study in Malaysia and Germany and graduate with two separate qualifications, one awarded by FKMP, UTHM and one by Heilbronn University.

  • Master of Mechanical Engineering (UTHM)
  • Master of Engineering in Mechatronics and and Robotics (Heilbronn University)
This programme is designed to strengthen students’ global competencies, technical expertise, and career readiness through an integrated curriculum delivered by both institutions.

Programme Structure

The dual degree programme follows a coordinated study plan jointly developed by FKMP, UTHM and Heilbronn University.

Students will:

  • Complete master by research at FKMP, UTHM
  • Undertake one or two semesters of study at Heilbronn University
  • Fulfil credit transfer requirements approved by both institutions
  • Complete a final project or thesis under academic guidance from both universities

Upon successful completion of all requirements, students are awarded degrees from both FKMP, UTHM and Heilbronn University.

Dual Degree with  UTHM-Prince of Songkla University 

Programme Structure

The dual degree programme follows a coordinated study plan jointly developed by FKMP, UTHM and Prince of Songkla University.

Students will:

  • Complete two thesis under academic guidance from both universities

Upon successful completion of all requirements, students are awarded degrees from both FKMP, UTHM and Prince of Songkla University.

Currently, Dr Muammar Mukhsin Bin Ismail (refer picture) had successfully graduated under the program. He was awarded a Dual Degree for his Doctoral of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from Prince of Songkla University and UTHM respectively during the convocation ceremony held in May 2022.
